After completing his studies at the Netherlands Police Academy in Holland (with specializations in Tactical Management and Support and Arrest Units), Mr. Rocco Tjon has done additional studies like Mediation, Higher Management and M.B.A. in Aruba and the FBI National Academy in the U.S.A.

Since the early 2000s he worked as a police officer in different staff functions including division head of the detective department, commander of the arrest team and chief of staff to the Chief of Police. He was also a part time instructor at the Aruban Police Academy.

For the last year before being elected member of the Parliament, Mr. Tjon
was the Director of the Correctional institution of Aruba.

Content Contribution
His contribution includes an outline of parliament’s role when it comes to signaling, preventing and condemning acts of poor governance. He will specifically address the role of the entire community with regards to enforcing practices of good governance. He strongly beliefs that citizens and specifically the media have a crucial role in educating and advocating practices of good governance. Furthermore, as a newcomer to politics, he will address his work experiences on how Parliament, as an entity, can be
of added value or impede practices of good governance.
